TMXmoney recently began publishing Interlisted Symbols, a list of companies listed on Toronto Stock Exchange that are also listed on a US-based exchange. Our latest addition to this feature is a list of companies listed on TSX that are also listed on an International Exchange. For example, First Quantum Minerals Ltd. is a Canada-based mining company listed on TSX under the symbol FM, and also listed on London Stock Exchange (LSE) under the symbol, FQM.
On top of the usual benefits to interlisting shares – diversifying and broadening the investor base, increasing liquidity of shares, greater analyst coverage and brand recognition - international interlistings can offer even more advantages. Aside from Canadian companies looking to expand their investor base abroad, you will also see many international companies looking to tap into the world's leading stock exchange for the natural resource sector. In fact, over 130 international mining companies are listed on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange, representing a combined market capitalization of $52 billion, which is good news for the Canadian investor seeking liquidity.
On each Interlisted Companies page, there are two tabs – one for Toronto Stock Exchange and one for TSX Venture Exchange. You can browse the list by symbol, exchange, issue name, sector or headquarters region. You can also search by typing in a symbol or name. With one click you can download the full list.
