Stay up to date with the new Earnings Calendar on TMXmoney

Earnings reports are quarterly filings made by public companies to report their performance. Simply put, a company's earnings report shows how much money it is, or isn't making. These reports include items such as net income, earnings per share and revenue, and are important for investors of any size to be aware of as they not only show how well the company has performed over the past period but can also provide key information about the present and future financial health of the company.

TMXmoney is pleased to introduce a comprehensive Earnings Calendar for companies on all North American Exchanges. This includes confirmed and estimated announcement dates of quarterly financial results by companies listed on Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, NYSE, NASDAQ and more.

The Calendar

The new calendar (currently in BETA) displays a list of companies scheduled to report earnings on a particular day. The current week is automatically displayed and you can click on the date to load that day's schedule.

You can click on Prev. Week or Next Week to bring up a new set of dates. If you want to see the calendar further in the future, click on Choose Date and select the month and day you want from the calendar that pops up. A dropdown menu above the dates allows you to filter results based on Exchange.

The list is sortable by various criteria; symbol, company name, period being reported, timing of release and estimated earnings per share. (EPS) This number is derived by analysts and clicking on the More button for each company takes you to the Research tab of the company's detailed quote page. Here you will see ratings, recommendations, industry comparisons and more details about target prices, and trends. The page now includes an Earnings History which displays a comprehensive history of the company's earnings results.

Back on the Earnings Calendar page, if you click on a date in the past, you will notice that the table is updated to reflect the actual earnings that were reported. Actual EPS appears next to the estimated EPS and a new Surprise column displays how much the actual figure differs from the estimation.

Notifications

In addition to the new Earnings Calendar page, you will also notice that for certain companies with which the date has been confirmed, a notification alert displays underneath the price on the detailed quote page. This displays the date of the upcoming earnings release and clicking on it will take you to the full calendar. It is a useful tool to help keep track of important dates from many of the large Canadian and American companies. The alert stays on for two weeks before and after the date so that you can plan ahead and also check recent results quickly.
